For example, when someone prepares a Will, he or she is planning in advance to provide for loved ones and leave a legacy to an organization about which he or she cares. In many ways, planned gifts are the culmination of a life of stewardship.

Planned giving can take many forms: cash or stock, Will or trust, charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust, life insurance, appreciated property.
